Regional Sustainable Energy Planning Project for Poland

Sustainable Energy offers the potential for a range of economic and environmental benefits, including:

- economic growth
- creation of employment
- improved air quality

However, such benefits can only be realised through an effective planning process.

The castle complex in Lidzbark Warminski
In this project, a pilot county Lidzbark Warminski has been selected to develop planning skills, and undertake training in the use of the tools necessary for sustainable energy planning to take place. The county will also engage local stakeholders in the planning process.

A key element of the planning process will also be to identify potential local sustainable energy projects for investment, and here key stakeholders will also play a crucial role.

This website is a gateway to the project. It enables all interested parties, especially local stakeholders, and other Regional Authorities in Poland to find out more about:

- Sustainable energy & the planning process
- The Project's progress in Lidzbark Warminski
- How to get involved

The team of experts from the UK and Poland, who are responsible for carrying out this work, have been funded by the UK Government's Department for International Development (DFID) Know How Fund.
