PROMISE - Pilot Projects

In each of the five countries participating in PROMISE, pilot projects are being carried out to demonstrate the procurement process for implementation of renewable energy and rational use of energy.

AUSTRIA

Krems: Retrofitting of kindergarten damaged by flooding. RES and RUE measures will include replacement windows, thermal insulation, solar-thermal installation for hot water.

St Pölten: Energy efficient street-lighting.

St Pölten: Refurbishment of school, reducing energy consumption by 20% - using RUE (replacement of boilers, windows, thermal insulation and energy efficient lighting).

BULGARIA Troyan: Improving the energy efficiency of streetlighting.

FRANCE

Mulhouse: Retrofitting of an old foundry building, for conversion into a facility for the University of Mulhouse. This project combines the need for a low impact building using RES (PV and heat pumps) and RUE, whilst also preserving its historical features.

POLAND

Dzialdowo: Replacement of heating system in school complex, with switch from coal to gas and efficient lighting system.

UK

Bristol: To meet Bristol City Council's targets for procurement of green electricity through local sustainable energy generation.
