Description ERI is an R&D institution in the energy field, specialising in general and renewable energy sources and technologies. It is one of the institutes of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

  Intermediate level (post secondary) technical institutions. There are around 14 VTCs in Sudan, administered by a central Vocational Training Administration under the Ministry of Labour and Human Development.
Energy sector focus

Design, use, economics and installation of
Solar energy,
e.g. solar cookers, solar pumps, solar distillers and water heaters. Also, PV solar heating systems, PV fridges, etc.

Solar thermal and photovoltaics, including courses on solar radiation & measurements; thermal conversion; PV conversion; thermodynamics. Training programmes on various RETs, but with special emphasis on PV technologies, e.g. PV conversion, systems & components, practical applications.
